Passivating Agent RP & RP Gel

Acid-neutral passivation solution (liquid or gel) for re-forming the protective chromium oxide layer after pickling stainless steel and high-alloy materials, including titanium and Duplex steels.

Passivating Agent RP & RP Gel

Post-Pickling Passivation for Stainless and High-Alloy Surfaces
Restores corrosion resistance after pickling and removes acid residues.

  • Rebuilds the passive layer destroyed during the pickling process within hours

  • Available as a liquid or gel product

  • Acts as a neutralizing cleaner for acid residues after pickling

  • Prevents hydrogen embrittlement on high-alloy and Duplex steels

  • Suitable for brushing, spraying, or immersion application

  • Produces a homogeneous, dense passive layer on the surface

  • Compatible with stainless steels, high-alloy materials, and titanium

  • Reaction time: approx. 20–30 minutes

  • Requires rinsing with high-pressure water (min. 150 bar) until pH neutral

  • Avoid use under direct sunlight or high ambient temperatures

  • Must be used with personal protective equipment (PPE)

  • Wastewater must be treated and disposed of properly

  • Coverage: approx. 8–10 m² per kg

Application

PELOX RP & RP Gel are acid-neutral passivation agents for stainless steel, high-alloy metals, and titanium. They rebuild the passive layer damaged by pickling, helping restore corrosion resistance within hours. Available as a liquid or gel, they are applied by brushing, spraying, or immersion.

Properties

  • Rebuilds the passive chromium oxide layer after pickling
  • Removes acid residues (acid runners) from the pickling process
  • Prevents hydrogen embrittlement on sensitive materials like Duplex/Super Duplex
  • Produces a homogeneous and dense passive surface
  • Reaction time: approx. 20–30 minutes
  • Coverage: 8–10 m² per kg

Usage Instructions

  • Always perform a compatibility test before use
  • Apply using brush, spray system (available from PELOX), or immersion
  • After passivation, rinse with clean water at ≥150 bar pressure until pH is neutral
  • Use only in ambient temperatures of 5–25 °C
  • Avoid direct sunlight during application
  • Wear proper protective equipment at all times
  • Dispose of rinse water and residues in compliance with regulations

Compatible Materials

Chromium-nickel steels, high-alloy stainless steels, titanium, Duplex and Super Duplex steels
